The Reflectoquant Malic Acid Test can be used for the determination of the decrease in malic acid concentration during the wine-making process. Malic acid (malate) is oxidized to oxalacetate by NAD under the catalytic effect of malate dehydrogenase. In the presence of diaphorase the NADH formed in the process reduces a tetrazolium salt to a red formazan that is determined reflectometrically on the RQflex.

Watesmo is used for quick and easy detection of water and water vapor. The color reaction is irreversible and stable over a long period of time. Even after the water has evaporated, the effect of water can still be reliably detected. The test paper is used to perform leak tests and detect condensation. It can also be used to check whether sensitive products, such as electronic components, come into contact with water, thereby identifying unjustified complaints. In the laboratory, it is used to easily check solvents for water content. If the test paper remains uncolored after the solvent has evaporated, the solvent is water-free. To easily detect water vapor in gas streams, moisten the test paper with anhydrous isopropanol and hold it in the stream. If water and water vapor are present, the paper will turn blue
